United Tool & Mold believes that good employees are one of the cornerstones of our company. The right person with the right training can build a career at UTM. At UTM we offer 3 apprenticeship programs to help build the workforce that will take our company well into the future.
All three of our apprenticeship programs are accredited by the United States Department of Labor.
We have two adult apprenticeships: CNC Programmer/Operator and Tool Repairman. Each of these apprenticeship programs are 4 year commitments combining at least 682 educational hours with 7,650 on-the-job training (OJT) hours. UTM works with local technical colleges to provide the education support. Most times, UTM adult apprentice’ will finish the UTM apprenticeship program with an associate degree.
The UTM School-to-Registered-Apprenticeship program involves high school junior and senior students. Hired after their junior year of high school, UTM STRA students work in the summer following their junior year of high school and have the opportunity to co-op during the senior year. The STRA program is a 2 year commitment with 312 related education hours (taught at their career center) and 2,000 hours OJT.
Our workforce ages every day and the only way that UTM can keep up with the growing demands of our customers is through hiring and training up the right people for the future of UTM.
